Are Strongholds Affecting Your Life?

What comes to mind when you hear the word “free”? One thing most consider is the freedom to do as they choose— freedom of speech, or rights as an American citizen. If you can relate it to your personal life, then maybe freedom could mean free from debt, a relationship, or job. But let’s go a little deeper towards spiritual, emotional, and mental freedom.

 

To know what being free means, you must first recognize the exact thing you’re stuck to, have an attachment to, or what’s keeping you hostage. This is your stronghold. By stronghold I mean something that has control over your emotions and the decisions you make. Strongholds often leave you feeling restless, tired, stressed, or anxious. A stronghold forces you to live in its’ shadow, making it difficult to recognize your fullest potential.

 

Examples of strongholds can be fear, doubt, self-hate, anger, depression, jealousy, spiritual warfare, something that occurred in the past, generational curses, or an addiction of any kind. Moving on from your stronghold can be a matter of accepting and healing from what has taken place in your life. If you're tired of fighting this battle within yourself then it’s time to find your freedom.

If your stronghold is because of something that happened in the past, understand that you cant keep basing your actions off of something that happened a long time ago. You can no longer afford to  be stuck in a bad memory, or simply sweep those bad memories under the rug as if they don’t exist. You have to stop feeling bad for yourself and what you went through. Whether you’re a survivor of domestic violence, or rape, lost a loved one, or went through something traumatic—The list could go on, but it’s all in the past. Stop wasting time by being stagnant, or stuck on something that happened years ago. You have one life to live, each moment that passes is time you will never get back.

 

Pinpoint exactly what it is you need to release from your life, your heart, and your mind. Find out what's holding you back, and the underlying issues to it. Once you do this, you’ll be able to work towards moving on. Your actions, thoughts, and words should align with doing just that. Let go of your stronghold and those negative feelings that come with it.

 

Affirm that you are free from your past, and free to live the way you want. You are free from the expectations of others, and their standard of living. You are free to be truly happy. You are free from everything that is negative, harmful, and destructive to your well-being. Its time you channeled your energy into something more beneficial to your life.
